Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the healthy development of individuals, families, and communities in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. With over four decades of experience, BACR provides a variety of strengths-based, trauma-informed services to tens of thousands of people each year, focusing on those affected by systemic racism and poverty.
BACR's programs include expanded learning initiatives, behavioral and mental health services, substance abuse prevention and treatment, and tobacco and vaping prevention efforts. The organization also supports healthy communities through health centers and offers fiscal sponsorship to other organizations. Additionally, BACR operates a significant AmeriCorps program and engages in advocacy to drive systemic change. Their services primarily reach Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, and San Mateo counties, as well as other areas in California.
